About the course
Over this one day course, you will be introduced to the ancient art of Blacksmithing. You will be guided through the art of forging by blacksmithing tutor, Isabella Busoni.
Under their guidance, you will learn how to transform a piece of steel bar into a personalised bottle opener, that can be both functional and decorative, using traditional techniques. This will involve learning tapering, drawing out, twisting and various other traditional processes. After perfecting your creation, you will then learn how to seal the piece using hot wax.
This course is exciting and informative learning experience for anyone who wants to try their hand at hot forge work, and get stuck in with a hammer on the anvil!
This course includes a forge induction. After completion, you will be able to book the forge to work on your personal blacksmithing projects. If you would like to learn further blacksmithing processes before starting your project, or just to practice and make more objects, you could also study our 3 evening course: Introduction to Blacksmithing (Inc. Forge Induction)
Please be aware that blacksmithing is physically demanding and this course will require you to use heavy equipment – we advise you are fit and well before booking the course.
