About the Course
Learn how to use our chopsaw, bandsaw, pillar drill and disc sander. This induction introduces you to the use of key basic wood machinery and equipment in the workshop. This induction will teach you the basic safe use of our machines, but will not teach you woodworking techniques.
This is a mandatory induction to be completed before using the wood workshop. We advise all inductees to purchase their own dust mask to use in the workshop.
After this course
After completing this course you will be able to make a bench booking to use our open access workshop. Public Liability Insurance is required.
This course will not teach you woodworking techniques. If you would like to learn more about the use of tools and machines in woodworking check out our courses:

Public Liability Insurance
When making a bench booking at Blackhorse Workshop you must ensure you are covered by Public Liability Insurance (PLI).
For members with a small creative business or personal practice, we recommend Artist Now membership which includes an insurance package, £44/year.
You can also operate under PLI with another appropriate insurance provider.
